Jenna is going to my appointment with me on Monday to hear the heartbeat and she is anxiously awaiting the big day! Jenna has also started reading and can read her first book: Hot Dog (hence the posting title). She has started her second book and with my Grandma's help of making flash cards with magnets on a handy board and is really learning quickly. We also registered her for Kindergarten this week and she was making friends with anyone and everyone that was also filling out the mountain of paperwork. She got to go on a tour with one of the faculty and made a hit. They enjoyed her just as much as she enjoyed walking the halls and taking a peek at where she would be attending school in the fall. She is so excited and talks about it daily. She did mention on her tour "My mommy says I am going to love Kindergarten...and I sure think she's right". I am so excited to see her start school but I know the water works will be in full effect that day for me, in part because my baby girl is starting school but because I will so miss her help at home!
Ava is showing more personality each day and each day it becomes more and more sassy. She loves her sister and wants to do anything and everything she does. She follows her around and goes with her to the bathroom where Jenna gives her play by play instructions on how to use the potty chair...which Ava will only do with her diaper on...but we are making more progress. She is talking all the time now and her favorites are Sumboo (Summer), Sissy, Tinky, Tinky, Tinky from the Hefty commercial and singing a number of songs.
Here is Ava with her Sumboo...
We have had a really busy month so far! We started it out with a birthday part for Jenna's best friend from Preschool. It was held at the ever so popular Riverbend Bounce where the kids bounce until their little hearts are content and the girls had a blast! Ava was following after Jenna everywhere and Jenna proved to be such a wonderful sister in public with her friends as she is at home. She would tell her friends she would catch up later and wait and cheer for Ava to climb the inflatable ladder to go down the slide. It really brought tears to my eyes watching them play and Jenna enjoying helping her baby sister so much!
